As we approach the closing of 2021, there are still a few months full of self growth challenges in store. With each month’s goals to push myself, I am learning so much about Joy and how to have fun while taking the best care of myself. Self-growth is fun and invigorating. It makes us push through in areas we need change and helps us to blossom to our full potential. Are you loving your personal self-growth challenges? Tell me all about it!

To welcome in Fall, I spent a month with spiritual bathing. There is nothing better than submerging yourself in warm and healing waters. I do not feel that there is a right or wrong way to do this, but you can add so many elements to enhance your bathing experience. Setting a proper intention to wash away or to soak up. Adding crystals, candles, guided meditation, essential oils and herbs are all helpful allies to your spiritual bathing experience. Another form of spiritual bathing is to soak a plant in water that you have left out in the sun or the moon light for a few hours, take your plant and dip into the infused water and then say a blessing while you sprinkle the water on your body. I love using a branch of bay laurel to do this. The fresh leaves of bay laurel are mesmerizing all in themselves!

For centuries, folks have soaked their bodies in mineral or soaking pools, otherwise known as hot springs! The waters have been known to be healing to so many people, and oftentimes communities are built around these sacred waters. In the Pacific Northwest, we are blessed to have so many of these warm bubbling springs and places to enjoy and submerge our worries away. Some of my favorite local places are Breitenbush Hot Springs, Bagby Hot Springs, Umpqua Hot Springs, Carson Hot Springs and Cougar Hot Springs. I try to visit these special places as often as I can. However, you can make your own special mineral pool in your own bath tub by adding healing and relaxing elements like Epsom and pink Himalayan salts to your water. What is your favorite way to enjoy spiritual bathing?

Beginning in October, I will be engulfing the essence of going inward. Initially and mindfully going to sleep at an earlier time for most days of the week. Really giving my body time to sleep and feel nourished. Dream more. Rest more. And allow the creative juices of my third eye to connect.
